A scrambling, tangled, wiry shrub native to southeastern Australia, typically growing from 0.3 to 2 meters high.

The foliage is characterised by its small, needle-like leaves arranged oppositely along the wiry stems.

It produces masses of delicate, cup-shaped flowers on slender stalks, primarily in spring and summer, but often spot-flowering year-round. The petals are usually pink but can be white, surrounding a striking cluster of numerous, cream-colored yellow-tipped
