A large densely tufted tussock grass.

Rough dull green to grey green leaves that commonly die back to a yellow giving a nice contrast between the leaves.

Flowers branched and spreading, above leaves up to 1.2m high. A popular plant for butterflies and birds seeking food.

Very widespread thought the Peninsula in a wide range of environments.

Fibres used to make string during traditional burning practices by the Wadawurrung.

Height x Width: 0.5-1.2m x 0.5-1.5m

Conditions: Moist to wettish alluvial soils. Full sun to semi shade. Can tolerate dryness when established.
