A densely tufted plant that clumps to 1m wide. Leaves in a grassy like fashion to 20cm high and 2-4mm wide
Flower spikes are narrow stems to 1.2m high with a flower 1.5-6cm long the feature of this sedge.
The Indigenous split the stems while still green and used them to make baskets

Conditions: Moist heavy winter wet soils, tolerant of shallow inundation, particular on the edges of dams and watercourses. Full sun to Semi-shade
