An open to dense erect or spreading shrub.
Short sticky leaves that are obovate or spoon shape like.
The flowers are pretty inconspicuous but they make up for that in the showy red to brown fruit capsules followed after flowering.
Hardy shrub that is great for screening and hedging. Responds well to pruning
Early European settlers used the leaves to make beer hence ‘hop bush’
