Slender erect perennial herb with a thick rootstock.
Small leaves with clear blue flowers on the end of stems.
This plant was used by the Indigneous for creating cords and fishing nets with the fibres from the flax.
It thrives from a hard cut back in late autumn to promote new growth.
Inconspicuous when not flowering. Plant at the front of mass plantings or with other smaller wildflowers.

Conditions: Moist well drained soils. Full sun to Semi-shade
