A dense tussock plant, commonly used as a landscaping plant and below trees.
Strapy leaves 4-10mm, used by the Wadawurrung to weave baskets.
Flowers/seed heads 12-50 cm long with small creamy white flowers surrounded by spikes. Flowers September to February, while flower heads may remain with capsules most of the year Some aboriginal groups ground the seed into flour.
Tolerates well drained soils, full sun to semi shade.
